No worries about the weather! You will travel in a climate controlled bus.

Restrooms are available during the experience.

Tours are limited to no more than 14 guests to ensure a VIP experience.

Our guides are happy to hail a taxi, Uber, Lyft, or friend for you at the end of the tour.

Adults 21 years and over (the legal drinking age in New York) are permitted on the tour.

Unfortunately, this tour is not wheelchair accessible.

What to Expect

The Tour

Your guided 3.5 hour drink and snacks tour will start in the parking lot kiddie corner from Good Luck restaurant where you will board a bus and be spirited away to the first of three stops in downtown Rochester.  We have selected each stop to highlight the best locally crafted flavors.  This tour offers a bit of everything – – from beer, to hard cider, to distilled spirits, along with tasty nibbles.  Plus, learn some fun facts about Rochester and discover some remarkable local art.  The tour will include:

  • One brewery where you will enjoy four, 4-oz. samples of beer.
  • One cider house where you will experience four examples of the newest craze in adult beverages.
  • One distillery with a behind-the-scenes tour and a VIP  tasting of four spirits.
  • Tasty bites to compliment your beverages at several stops.
  • An expert guide who will keep you entertained with interesting insights.
  • A VIP experience created by limiting the tour to no more than 14 guests.

The Bus

You will be transported to each stop in the comfort of a specially outfitted, climate-controlled bus.

  • Popcorn, pretzels, chips, and bottled water are provided on the bus.
  • There is space to store bottles, cans, and growlers that you buy along the way.
  • A locked storage area is on board for personal belongings.

Where to Meet

The drinks and food tasting tour will start on Anderson Street, in the parking lot kiddie corner from Good Luck restaurant. It is easy to find and parking is free. The lot is located on the southeast corner of Anderson Avenue and Carlton Street. Just look for the Portage Tours bus. Your guide will be waiting to welcome you aboard.

Most of our tour partners offer other beverage options, like wine, cider or soda.

Yes.  Advance ticket purchase is required.  Most events sell out quickly.  To maximize your chances of getting the date and number of tickets you want, please book early.

We do not have a waiting list.  If a date is sold out, please email us and we may be able to add a tour for the day you desire.

You may wish to bring some cash or a credit card to buy the treasures you discover on the tour.  Our bus is custom fitted to hold growlers, crowlers, wine bottles, and has a secure area to store purchases.  Also, remember to bring your photo ID.  Other than that, you only need to bring a readiness to have fun, a willingness to explore, and a smile!
